The research activities will mainly address the identification of sustainable cropping practices for vegetable cultivation in the Mediterranean, fostering the long-term collaboration between Bologna University (UNIBO) and the Universidad Politecnica de Cartagena (UPCT). Based on the expertise of the candidate, the research visit will support the preparation of joint research proposals and activities in the field of urban agriculture, counting on the previous collaboration between UNIBO and UPCT in the EU project Hortis. Furthermore, Dr. Orsini will also be integrated and contribute to two existing research projects at the UPCT, mainly addressing the use of substrate for hydroponic leafy vegetable production and the implementation of research trials on intercropping within the EU project Diverfarming.
